Lille is the city in the Nord where Northern French Traditions shakes hands with Cosmopolitanism. We are unique in many ways. Unlike the rest of France, the Nord is the beer county. Not wine. And hence, our cuisines are also different.
Among many cultural heritages of France, one most known is its Gastronomy. Many regions boast of their original recipes of the famous French dishes. For example, Lyon, the Gastronomic capital of France. Is known for some of the known cuisines popular in French culture.
The same way, every region has its own famous cheese.

La Ducasse is one of the few restaurants in the city of Lille where they prepare and serve authentic traditional Nord cuisine. Remember, Lille is a French city, but people here pride themselves in their pression, the local beer. A good Carbonade Flammande or Marroilles with the beer is worth discovering. La Ducasse is named after the famous French restaurant Alain Ducasse, the pioneer who perfected the process to make Carbonade Flammande.

Lille is a diverse métropole in the Nord Department of France. With myriads of cuisine from all over the world, no one can remain hungry here no matter what their taste buds prefer. But when it comes to African cuisine, some food enthusiast folks are still confused because Africa itself is a large diverse continent. Afri Call Food in Fives District in Lille, not very far from the City Center or Vieux Lille Area is the best place to try out Saharan and Sub Saharan delicacies. I have been there twice, and having tasted two different cuisines there, now I can't say which one was my favorite. And bravo to the service staff there because both times he recommended what to eat. And he made himself and his restaurant my favorite places for African cuisine. 🙂
